Reunion Dates:

First, the confirmed dates for the Choir Reunion are July 25-28, 2002. This is a happy coincidence because Norm's birthday also falls during that weekend, so we will be able to celebrate that as well! Mark your calendars and don't forget to bring a birthday card!

Hotel Info:

Our hotel contract provides for a block of reserved rooms at the Grosvenor Resort in Lake Buena Vista (Orlando), Florida. The address of the Grosvenor is 1850 Hotel Plaza Blvd, Lake Buena Vista, FL.  While you are not required to stay there, the Grosvenor will be "Reunion Central" and all events and activities will take place there. The Grosvenor is offering us a discounted package room rate of $85/night, and there is convenient transportation to/from Orlando airport (private shuttle $16/person, see details below) and the Disney parks (complementary).  Should you wish to avoid the expense of renting a car, the Grosvenor is the clear choice.

Your initial reservations must be received by The Grosvenor no later than March 24, 2002. They can be made now by calling the hotel at 800-624-4109 and stating that you wish to reserve a room for the "PHS Choir Reunion". They will charge one night's stay (plus tax) per room, as a credit card deposit, or by check. Should you pay by check, it must be received by the Grosvenor within 7 days of making your reservation. The Grosvenor has also agreed to extend the rate for up to 5 days before and up to 5 days after the Reunion, "as long as rooms remain available".

Please note the following:

1. Reservations received by The Grosvenor by March 24, 2002 can be modified, based on room availability, until the day of arrival.

2. Should you need to cancel the reservation entirely, you must do so by Friday, July 19, 2002 to receive a refund of your deposit.

3. While we may still be able to reserve some rooms after March 24, 2002, we may be unable to do so at the discounted rate. So again, please book early.

Based on what many of you have told us about your plans, it is possible that we will exceed our initial room block. Given this, we are working with the Grosvenor to ensure adequate space. Please help us manage this potential problem by booking your room now. The obvious caveat is that whoever books early, books best. So please make your reservations as early as possible.

Beyond your hotel charges there is also a registration procedure and fee for the reunion itself, which will include meals and all reunion acitivities. Please see our FAQ page for reunion fees and procedures.

Activities for kids:

This is important info for anyone traveling to the reunion this summer with kids.  The Grosvenor has an evening program to watch them while we are at our activities, as well as many other features just for kids.

The outside of the building is very "peptobismol pink".  The inside is outstanding-- very clean and friendly.

There is a "kids night out" for ages 4 to 12, three nights a week including Friday.  The costs are 6pm to 9pm for $25 per child, or 6pm to 11pm for $35 per child. This includes dinner, a movie, swimming, arts and crafts, and other activities.  Prices are subject to change, so call the hotel for current rates.

There is a "Character breakfast" where families can eat with various Disney characters.  The prices are very reasonable-- as of this writing, $5 for kids and $10 for adults.  The characters are there 3 mornings a week, including Saturday.  Breakfast is buffet-style and includes a wide assortment of foods.  Check with the hotel for current pricing.

The hotel will serve "picnic dinners" for kids in your room.  This is a great idea for kids who are old enough to be left alone but whose parents want to make sure they don't have any trouble with dinner.  A complete chicken picnic dinner with all of the "fixin's" will be delivered to your room.  Pricing was reasonable, call the hotel for current rates.

The hotel also features a "mystery dinner theater" which is great for kids.

The pools are clean and inviting.  The baby pool has a canopy roof over it to help keep the little ones out of the direct blazing sun.

Disney Village (can you say shopping!!!!!) is right across the street.  There is easy access to any of the Disney theme parks too.  We have access to special discount "hopper" passes to the theme parks if you are interested, too.

Travel Info:

We have arranged for a group discount on Continental Airlines and Alamo Rent-a-Car for your trip to the reunion.

Continental Airlines is offering 10% off their lowest available airfare when booked 60 days prior to travel, and 5% under 60 days. The reservations must be made by calling 1-800-468-7022 and giving the ID code of VR56Z9. (Internet fares do not apply). Travel any days from July 19 thru August 2 to get this discount.

Other airlines also offer discounted airfares and one or more of these may be more appropriate given where you live. So please be sure to check with either a travel agent or with an Internet ticketing service to ensure you have the fare that's best for you.

Alamo Rent a Car is the largest provider in Orlando. We have arranged for a special group discount of up to 15%. Rent a car by phone at 1-800-327-9633 or online at Alamo Rent-a-Car. Use ID 538678 with rate code GR. To speed you along on your arrival, apply for Alamo's "Quicksilver" card.

Transportation to/from Orlando airport:

Mears Motor Shuttle (407-423-5566):
$16.00 (adults) $12.00 (children) one way.
Roundtrip rate is $28.00 (adults) $20.00 (children).

When arriving at the airport, go to the second level (baggage claim area). Mears booth is in that area. Vans leave approximately every 30-45 minutes.

For a return trip to the airport, passengers must call Mears one day prior, to make a reservation.
